Explore a World-Class Diving Destination

Located just off the Pilbara coastline, the Dampier Archipelago is made up of 42 pristine islands and is home to more than 650 species of fish, 4 turtle species, dolphins, rays and a rich variety of coral reef habitats. While recent marine heatwaves have impacted some coral areas, the region still offers an incredible diversity of marine life and underwater landscapes. With its warm waters and unique reef systems, it remains WA’s most diverse underwater marine environment – a hidden gem for both diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Whale Watching Season

From late June to early October, the Dampier Archipelago becomes a key migration route for humpback whales. These magnificent creatures travel north from Antarctica to give birth and rest in the warm waters of Western Australia’s northwest coast.

As we travel between dive sites, our crew will keep watch and if conditions allow, we’ll pause for a respectful and memorable whale viewing experience. Keep your camera ready – witnessing a humpback breach, tail-slap, or spy-hop is truly unforgettable.

The Dive Experience

You’ll enjoy two boat dives at hand-picked sites chosen on the day to match the tides and weather, ensuring you experience the very best conditions the Archipelago has to offer. Expect colourful reefscapes, unique topography and close encounters with marine life.

Between dives, relax onboard during your surface interval, surrounded by breathtaking island views. You’re welcome to bring a self-catered lunch or pre-order a delicious meal from SOAK for added convenience.
